BEAR'S JOURNEY 5 MONTHS TO PRESENT

Bear was rescued from a place where the previous owner abused him. Bear was confined to a cat carrier way too small for him, and not given water and food for several days. He was placed on a tow chain that ran across a clothes line and was in bad shape. Bear suffered an eye injury and is not able to see from his left eye. This poor pup was in shut down mode. One thing for sure about Bear is, "He is a Fighter!"
Bear was turned over to a rescue group after a wonderful lady pleaded to the owner to give him to a good home. He as brought to a nearby Veterinary Clinic who help him regain his life back. Bear was also fighting Parvo. Bear was placed into a foster home for a week, and then adopted by owners of K9 in Motion Wellness. A program was put into place for Bear which included Omega 3-6-9's, and Probiotics from the Alpha Vet Science line. Bear received his first round of vaccines, tape worm meds, new eye meds for his still swollen and infected eye, and a secondary test for his parvo, which came back negative. He is a happy puppy who loves being around people and children. He is now enjoying a home with a big brother Chase, 3yr old Golden Retriever/Black Lab and Oreo his feline friend whom he likes to chase.  Bear has put on weight, and enjoys his walks everyday. He is now being referred to see an Ophathamaligist for his injured eye, as he may have permanent eye blindness. Bear will also be receiving Animal Chiropractic through Animalignment with Dr. Rachel Bentley, Canine Massage & Canine Hydrotherapy through K9 in Motion Wellness in Peterborough, Ontario. Updates will be shared as we progress. Please see below BEAR'S JOURNEY..

Pachoo came to K9 in Motion Wellness with an undiagnosed lameness.  Pachoo would give us the look as, "Your touching me!, but did enjoy her massages, along with Animal Chiropractic services with Dr. Rachel Bentley. (Shinning Waters -Peterborough). Once a month it was her spa day at K9 in Motion Wellness.

"When we brought Max to Karen, we had to put him on a cart and wheel him in.  He was totally unable to walk or stand on his own at that point.  Between massage and Chiro from Dr. Rachel Bentley, he began to get some mobility back within a couple of weeks.  It did take time for him to improve, but with the massage, Chiro and eventually Hydrotherapy, he now has his abilities back, and is again chasing his Frisbee."
Max loved going to K9 in Motion and would try to climb into our van every time we opened a door. Considering we twice went to the vet, thinking it would be his last trip (each time), he has gotten an expanded, quality lease on life, and his usual happy self.  We are very grateful we made the decision to participate in Karen's and Rachel's treatment program." Meet Diesel and Luna.  Owner Ashley Graham of K9 Fit/ Wild free Pet Retreat in Brighton who is a recent graduate of our Canine Massage and Canine Hydrotherapy course in 2018.  Diesel is such a character and relies on his wheel cart to motor around, and Luna is a princess.  Love their swims in the pool.

Sophie is a Chihuahua/Rack Russel mix.  Sophie is one of our training dogs for our Canine Hydrotherapy Practitioner Training Course.  She has a great personality and has benefited from the swims for her back legs.

Odin is German Short Haired Boxer.  Odin loves to come in as our training canine for our Canine hydrotherapy Practitioner Training course.  Odin loves the swim as well.

"After a long recovery, I needed to get my dog back into shape without necessary impact. Swimming is a great way to do this but there are very limited places to go.  Very happy to have this option in my area."(JD)

Sammy is a Rescue with K9 Crusaders Rescue.  Sammy is such a sweet girl.  K9 Crusaders Rescue.

"My dog Penny is a retired Therapy Dog with Therapeutic Paws of Canada (https://tpoc.ca/). She visited at at retirement home in Peterborough as well as supporting special events in City (Bell Let's Talk Day at Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, visiting with Girl Guide groups). While active she was a dedicated therapy dog with over 100 hours of volunteer time to her credit. Penny has given years of service to enrich the Peterborough community. When her age and an unfortunate leg injury had her retire at the age of 12, we thought our days of having Penny with us were limited.  That is when I learned about K9 in Motion Wellness."
"Karen and her team gave me a sense of hope for Penny, and working in conjunction with my vet, developed an affordable exercise and therapy regime for Penny.  Now, almost a year later, Penny is doing very well. She has regained mobility we did not think she would ever again...even climbing a flight of stairs on her own.  i credit the K9 in Motion Wellness team for really giving Penny quality time in her twilight years."
"I was not aware of anyone else providing this service in Peterborough, and was skeptical of the benefits, given Penny's age and the expense (especially if I had to travel to Toronto).  After seeing the improvement this program has had for Penny, and knowing the costs of similar programs elsewhere, this is a real gem for Peterborough.  I could see people from Toronto travelling here to get the rehabilitation for their pets."(HL).  Sadly passed 2020.
